He port of San Antonioin Chile, began the implementation of the Port Community System (PCS), a tool that seeks to increase the efficiency and productivity of its logistics system.
The PCS is an electronic platform that connects different actors in a port-logistics community to facilitate the exchange of information between operators, optimizing the different systems used by each of the users.
This project is part of the Digitalization Plan of the Port of San Antonio and was awarded to the company INDRA, a specialized company that operates in several countries with a comprehensive service. INDRA will be in charge of digitizing the different logistical processes that until now were carried out manually at the port.
The PCS will allow the implementation of a platform that will position the port of San Antonio at the level of a first-class port in matters of digitalization and port competitiveness. With this system, actors access real-time information about the documentary situation and the physical flows of cargo throughout the logistics chain.
In this way, more cargo security and greater traceability are achieved, in addition to reducing errors and reducing service times for truck drivers due to factors such as lack of information.
With the implementation of the PCS, the port of San Antonio will join the select group of world-class terminals that use these platforms to improve port operations and their relationship with the environment.
