Dozens of rockets were fired today (Saturday) at Lebanese border settlements by the Hezbollah organization, in retaliation for the assassination of al-Aaruri. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) responded by attacking a number of centers in Lebanon and eliminating dispatch squads.
The chairman of the Line of Conflict Forum, Moshe Davidovitz, expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s response to the escalating conflict, warning that Israel’s northern border may be at risk. He emphasized the need to eradicate Hezbollah’s threat capabilities.
Mayor of Kiryat Shmona, Avihai Stern, echoed this sentiment, stating that only a military decision will work against Hezbollah. He expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of potential agreements.
Earlier today, over 90 localities reported alarms and dozens of rockets were detected crossing into Israeli territory in the Mount Meron region of the Upper Galilee. The IDF responded by attacking a terrorist squad in Lebanese territory that participated in the launches. The Air Force and other artillery forces also targeted Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.
The escalation of conflict in the region has raised concerns about the potential for a prolonged and intense conflict. As tensions continue to rise, the threat of further violence looms over the northern border of Israel.
