A 39-year-old driver of a quad bike tried to cover up his drug addiction with artificial urine during a traffic stop on Friday in Kematen in Tyrol (Innsbruck-Land district). He carried the liquid in a packaging unit in his clothing, and an official medical examination confirmed the influence of drugs. During a house search, cannabis resin and cocaine were found in small quantities in the man’s apartment.

According to the police, the 39-year-old was stopped on Axamer Straße (L394) at lunchtime. The officers suspected drug abuse, whereupon the 39-year-old agreed to a voluntary urine test. When the test results were checked, the man’s attempted deception was exposed. After further questioning of the 39-year-old, a house search was ordered. It was said that he had confessed to the allegations – the purchase, possession and sale of addictive substances. The 39-year-old was arrested and taken to the Innsbruck prison.
