“Oppenheimer” is the big winner at the Golden Globes. Sandra Hülser comes away empty-handed as an actress, but she can look forward to two Globes for “Anatomy of a Case”.

The historical epic “Oppenheimer” about the father of the atomic bomb won at the Golden Globes. The film by director Christopher Nolan with Cillian Murphy in the role of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer won five Globe trophies on Monday night, including best drama, for directing, leading role and supporting role.
The German actress Sandra Hülser (45) lost to the American Lily Gladstone (37, “Killers of the Flower Moon”) in the “Best Actress in a Drama Film” category. Hülser was nominated for a Golden Globe for the first time for her role in the legal drama “Anatomy of a Case” by French director Justine Triet. The film won two awards: best screenplay and best non-English language film. In it, Hülser plays a writer who comes under suspicion of murder.
“Barbie” wins in new blockbuster category
The lurid satire “Barbie” was the favorite in the Globe race with nine nominations. The film by Greta Gerwig with Margot Robbie in the role of the iconic doll had to be content with two awards – in the new blockbuster category “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” for box office hits and for the song “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell.
The fantasy fairy tale “Poor Things” by director Giorgos Lanthimos also won two Globes – for best comedy and for leading actress Emma Stone in a comedy/musical. Paul Giamatti impressed with his leading role as a grumpy history teacher in the tragicomedy “The Holdovers”.
The Globe presented the winners in 27 film and television categories in Beverly Hills. The trophy gala was broadcast live on US broadcaster CBS. (dpa)
