The pilot from Mato Grosso do Sul was identified as Donizete Veríssimo Dias, 54, arrested last night (6) after making a forced landing with 420 kg of cocaine in the city of Rio Sono, in the interior of Tocantins. A repeat offender, the pilot served a prison sentence for the same crime and has been free since June 2023.
Donizete, who held the position of secretary of the Aeroclube de Dourados, was arrested on November 16, 2015 in Gabriel Monteiro (SP), Araçatuba region. The pilot and a businessman from Paraná were on board a Seneca EMB-810C aircraft when they were intercepted by the Brazilian Air Force in Mato Grosso do Sul and were pursued to the city of São Paulo, where they made a forced landing on a farm where an aircraft workshop operated. .
400 kilos of cocaine base paste were found inside the plane. At the time, the businessman said he was hired for US$100,000 to buy and sell the drug and that he would receive the aircraft after work. The pilot from Mato Grosso do Sul reported that he was hired by the businessman for R$50,000, but he did not know that it was to transport the drug, which was valued at R$7 million. The duo was arrested for international trafficking and sent to the Penápolis (SP) jail.

In 2016, the Federal Court of Araçatuba sentenced the two men to 10 years and 2 months in prison. After serving part of his sentence in the closed regime, Donizete was granted provisional release in June last year, however, the pilot could not leave the city without prior judicial authorization.
Case – The pilot from Mato Grosso do Sul arrested last night (6) after making a forced landing in a rural area in the municipality of Rio Sono, in the interior of Tocantins. The aircraft, which was damaged due to the sudden landing, was carrying a load of 420 kilos of cocaine.
After an anonymous report to the Tocantins Military Police, they went to the rural property and found the pilot, who had minor head injuries resulting from the impact of the forced landing.
Inside the aircraft, the military located 420.9 kg of the illicit substance, divided into ten packages weighing approximately 40 kg each. During interrogation, the pilot confessed to having loaded the drug in Corumbá, 420 kilometers from Campo Grande, and was destined for a farm in Tocantins.
