The 9 de Julio park, once proud and consistent with the nickname of Garden of the Republic for Tucumán, is for us the obligatory center of spaciousness, freshness, pure air, freedom, mental and physical expansion, contact with living nature and family reunion . Unfortunately, its integrity as a park model is suffering. At the southern entrance, an onslaught of activities foreign to and harmful to its basic function was established. A flying commercial and gastronomic fair that, as such, breaks its basic scheme of harmonious display of architectural and environmental beauty. If we add to this the uncontrolled movement of vehicles of all sizes, loads and speeds, we would reach the sad conclusion that the quality of its beauty and reason for being is in danger. I think that its authorities must resolve this in time, which, if it continues, will affect its prestige among the parks of the world, in addition to taking away our pride in having a top quality entity, just as it was designed by architect Carlos Thays, its creator.
