Paris 2024 Olympic Games: a brochure lists all the sites of the events and festivities in Île-de-France

The Games involve 15,000 athletes, 41 competition sites. It is also these municipalities of Île-de-France, a territory which concentrates more than 80% of the events, ready to take part in the party by celebrating this international event. In what way? Some will host training centers and delegations, while others plan a large program of cultural and sporting activities.

This Monday, January 8, while it unveiled its new window sticker in the colors of the Paris 2024 Games, affixed to its glass facade, the regional prefecture presented its 50-page booklet bringing together all the activities planned on Île-de-France. France before and during the competition. “Let all Ile-de-France residents find the events planned near them,” underlines Marc Guillaume, the prefect.

Korean culture in Fontainebleau

“The State is committed to ensuring that the municipalities of Île-de-France, even when they are not hosting a competition, are at the heart of the Olympic celebration with a multitude of activities in the region. The purpose of this brochure is to publicize all these events: in a single document you will discover the sites which will live to the rhythm of the Olympic and Paralympic Games,” adds Marc Guillaume.

In total, more than 150 towns in the region will be the scene of activities and events linked to the Olympics. Like Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne). “We are expecting around 200 Korean athletes from different disciplines. We want to ensure that we welcome them well, give a good image of the city and introduce residents to Korean culture,” underlines Judith Reynaud, deputy mayor in charge of culture. Ahead of the Games, from spring, activities will be organized in the town.

“A traditional music and dance show, an exhibition on Korean culture, language learning and cooking workshops, K-pop, lists the chosen one. Also a mini-film festival, a Hanbok Fashion Show which is a parade of traditional costumes, conferences and educational workshops with schools. »

Agriculture in Villeneuve-la-Garenne

Another example in Villeneuve-la-Garenne (Hauts-de-Seine). The town of 25,000 inhabitants, which adjoins the athletes’ village, is also planning actions linked to the Paris 2024 Games. The “Adventure of the Living: the Tour” truck will stop there for two days to present local life training and professions. A system managed by the Ministry of Agriculture.

“The schools will come and take a look,” says Bachir Haddouche, sports assistant at the town hall of Villeneuve-la-Garenne. Our urban farm with its beehives, sheep and chickens will be transformed into a small Olympic village with the presence of associations. These are popular games. »

In Île-de-France, 119 municipalities have organized themselves to welcome foreign delegations in Games preparation centers (CPJ). Around thirty of these CPJs have already formalized this reception of foreign delegations, indicates the prefecture.

“A common epic”

Also, 117 municipalities will be crossed by the Olympic and Paralympic flame. Finally, at least 13 “Club 2024” celebration zones will be deployed in each Ile-de-France department in order to bring the Games to life, on giant screens, in these fan zones with free access, next summer.

The booklet available online

The brochure of around fifty pages details, department by department, the competition and training sites, the preparation centers for the Games, cultural CPJs, agro-gastronomic CPJs, celebration areas and the route of the two flames. It is intended to be updated regularly, since animations will be added.
