From one historic record to another. Elected President of the Republic in 2017, at less than 40 years old, Emmanuel Macron has just appointed the youngest Prime Minister of the Fifth Republic, to replace Elisabeth Borne and try to revitalize a stalled five-year term. Aged 34, Gabriel Attal, who arrives on Tuesday January 9 in Matignon, thus dethrones Laurent Fabius who, appointed at the age of 37 to this position by François Mitterrand, has long been able to pride himself on this specificity.
