By virtue of the management assignment carried out by Adif in favor of the Bilbao Port Authority (Spain), the Basque entity has started the bidding process to contract railway operations services at the goods transport terminal in the capital of Biscay.

The contract covers two main blocks of activities. The first includes functions as head of cargo operations, supervising and directing the loading and unloading operations of goods by rail, including the conditioning and securing of cargo in accordance with railway regulations and technical procedures of the infrastructure manager and the loading companies. and railways.

The second activities are auxiliary and are related to cargo operations, such as the control and registration of entries and exits of the UTIs by road and rail, document management according to internal Adif procedures, telephone and telematic attention to clients and users of the terminal. , and collaboration with Adif in resolving incidents.

It is highlighted that the successful bidder may be entrusted with additional activities agreed upon between Adif and the Port Authority of Bilbao within the framework of the current management assignment. The contract, with an execution period of one year that can be extended for another year, has a base bidding budget of 184,041 euros and an estimated value of 304,200 euros.

Another improvement in the process of execution in the Bilbao enclave is the granting of planning for its electricity supply infrastructure to ships in the port. The objective of the port area is to provide four electrical connection points on pier A-5 of the Central Pier. This will allow ships docking at this dock to receive electricity from the port’s distribution network.
