The events began in 2019, when the victim was 9 years old and the accused Óscar Alfonso Mena Lemus took advantage of the minor when the mother was not at home, detailed the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic.

On March 15, 2022, the girl told a teacher about the abuse and she took her to the San Juan de Dios National Hospital in Santa Ana to undergo the proper examinations. The studies revealed that the minor had been abused and her mother filed a complaint.

At the trial, the Prosecutor’s Office presented sufficient evidence to establish that said subject committed the crimes of continuous sexual assault on a minor or incapacitated person and aggravated rape on a minor or incapacitated person.

The First Sentencing Court of Santa Ana broke down the sentence imposed as follows: 26 years with 8 months in prison for the crime of continuous aggravated rape of a minor or incapacitated person, and 16 years in prison for continuous aggravated sexual assault of a minor or incapacitated person. .
