“Storm System Clears Out, Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Western Maryland”

The storm that brought heavy rain and strong winds to the Baltimore area on Tuesday is now moving out, but a winter weather advisory is in effect for western Maryland as the region braces for snow showers.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for far western Maryland, where snow showers are expected to increase on Wednesday morning and last through the night. In other areas, the cold front moving through the region will bring showers and light rain into Wednesday morning.

Despite the winter weather advisory, most other locations will see drier conditions on Wednesday due to westerly winds bringing drier air into the region. However, winds are expected to pick up again on Wednesday, with gusts over 30 mph forecasted for the afternoon.

As high pressure builds into the area from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday, the weather is expected to improve. Thursday is forecasted to be a fantastic day with highs in the 50s and sunny skies.

Looking ahead to Friday, a significant storm system is expected to move into the mid-section of the country, bringing rain to the Baltimore area on Friday afternoon. The heaviest rain is likely to occur Friday evening into the overnight hours, accompanied by gusty winds.

The storm is not expected to be as impactful as the previous one, with less rainfall and slightly weaker winds, but disruptions are still possible for Friday night and Saturday morning plans.

Following the storm system, colder air will filter into the area, with highs in the 40s on Sunday and 30s to start next week. There is also a chance for snow showers on Monday into Tuesday, although it is not expected to be a significant storm at this point.

Stay tuned for updates on the weather as the week progresses.
