We know a little more about the Groupama FDJ riders’ program in 2024. The French team has announced the names of the first four riders who will participate in the Tour de France next summer (June 29-July 21). The usual Valentin Madouas and Stefan Küng will be accompanied by the young 20-year-old hopeful Romain Grégoire who will discover the Grande Boucle for the first time.
“It’s obviously a dream, but the objective is not just to go there, it’s to perform well,” warned the last winner of the 4 days of Dunkirk.

Last named, Groupama FDJ leader David Gaudu will be entitled to a double ration since he will also participate in the Vuelta (August 17-September 8) this year, a race in which he has already won two stages during the 2020 edition. The 9th in the general classification of the last Tour de France has set three objectives for this season: “Return to victory, perform well on the Tour and have a full season”.
Double blow for David Gaudu
To accompany him on the Tour of Spain, we will find Lenny Martinez, presumed absent from the Tour de France. The 20-year-old Frenchman had already caused a sensation last year by beating the youngest wearer of the leader’s red jersey in history. He had kept it like this for two stages.

In recent days, team announcements for the various major events of the season have been multiple. This Tuesday, Patrick Lefevere, the manager of the Soudal Quick-Step team, announced that Julian Alaphilippe would “a priori” not be on the Grande Boucle next summer, but would be there on the Giro roads. “It’s not a disappointment not to go to the Tour, it’s a choice on my part confirmed by the team. I can’t be everywhere either,” regrets the 31-year-old Frenchman this Wednesday in the columns of L’Équipe.
