City hall internal: This is how citizens are led behind the spruce | Regional

by time news

Hamburg – It is a nuisance for all of us that is repeated over and over again – political and administrative language that increasingly oscillates between incomprehensibility and banality.

For example, the SPD parliamentary group recently had the following to contribute on the subject of “innovation strategy”:

“Competences and creative minds for future topics are the basis for innovations of the future. On the way to becoming a port of innovation (apparently meaning the right port of Hamburg, ed.) it is important to demonstrate the benefits of change processes. (…) Innovations provide answers to the pressing questions of our time.”

With all due respect: minds as the basis for innovations? Innovations provide answers?

Such sentences are pure horse deception. Should sound good, say nothing at all.

Incompetence as a jingle of words. Although it is about an important issue that is close to our hearts, the port and how to make money there.

Different case, this time the green traffic authority. In a notice about the planned resident parking in Eimsbüttel you can find this:

“During the weekdays, around 20 percent of the parking lots are occupied by commuters and other users in the mornings and afternoons, which shows that parking space management and the introduction of the residents’ parking area can bring about a significant improvement for residents.”

38 Words You’re Better to Read Twice. Especially since the double gender colon in the middle is annoying and irritating. On top of that the made-up word “parking space management”. That stands for nothing else than handing out lots of expensive tickets. Not to mention the nonsense “user”.

The actual statement that there is NO guarantee for residents to have a parking space in front of their front door – although they have to pay 65 euros a year for it – is smothered in speech.

Something like that can also be called “leading citizens behind the spruce tree”.
