SAS Plane Forced to Return to Arlanda Due to Smell of Smoke

An SAS plane flying from Arlanda to Helsinki was forced to return to the airport after indications of a smell of smoke in the cabin, reports Aftonbladet.

The flight, SK716, took off at 14:04 and landed back at Arlanda at 14:15, according to Swedavia.

Ellen Laurin, press officer at Swedavia, confirmed that the landing was normal and that the situation was now over.

Irena Busic, press manager at SAS, stated that there were 28 passengers on the plane that turned around and that they must now be rebooked onto another aircraft. However, she reassured that everyone was fine and that it was a completely normal safety landing at Arlanda, not an emergency landing.

Passengers and crew have been reported as safe, although the cause of the smell of smoke in the cabin is still under investigation.
