Matthew Perry Allegedly Physically Assaulted Women Before Death
Sources close to the late Friends actor, Matthew Perry, have recently come forward with allegations that he physically assaulted many women in the years leading up to his death at age 54. One of the women named is his ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, who he allegedly assaulted by “throwing a coffee table” at her in 2021 during a confrontation over cheating. Another woman, his live-in companion Morgan Moses, was also reportedly shoved into a wall and thrown onto a bed during a “meltdown” in March 2022.
Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit TV show Friends, died after overdosing on ketamine and was found dead in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home. In his memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Perry referred to Moses as his “best friend” under the pseudonym “Erin.” However, reports have claimed that he attacked Moses, which led to her quitting her job as his sober companion and cutting off contact with him.
In addition to the allegations of assault, details about Perry’s tumultuous relationship with Hurwitz have also emerged. The two began dating in 2018 and eventually got engaged, but they decided to part ways in 2021. Reports suggest that their relationship ended after a fight on Valentine’s Day, during which Perry allegedly became violent and threw a coffee table at Hurwitz.
Even in his memoir, Perry admitted to proposing to Hurwitz while high on hydrocodone in a rehab facility and later forgetting about it. After getting engaged and living together, he claimed to be shocked by the situation, which eventually led to their breakup.
Following Perry’s death, Hurwitz wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing her complex feelings and experiences with the actor. “While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known,” she wrote. “No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship.”
