Bad weather on the Ionian coast, intense rainfall – Libero Quotidiano

Milan, 11 Jan. (askanews) – The cold has arrived in Italy with temperatures around 4-8 degrees lower than the averages for the period, but the area most affected in these hours is the Ionian coast, where intense rainfall has been recorded. Sixty interventions were carried out by the Fire Brigade to deal with the damage caused by bad weather, in particular in the areas of Mascali, Riposto and Giarre. Most of the interventions concern broken down cars, flooding of roads and cellars and fallen or unsafe trees.
