Local Body Election 2022 | Urban local elections

by time news
Consultations will be held this afternoon under the chairmanship of Durai Vaiko as no agreement has been reached in the talks with the DMK in the urban local government elections.

Elections for urban local bodies in Tamil Nadu are scheduled to be held on the 19th. The ruling DMK, in turn, is in talks with its allies over ward sharing. The DMK alliance includes the Congress, Madhyamaka, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, the Marxist Communist Party, the Communist Party of India and the Humanitarian People’s Party.

The DMK alliance in the urban local government elections did not reach an agreement in all the district level talks across Tamil Nadu for Madimuga. During a meeting with the DMK on behalf of the Tiruvallur district in Chennai yesterday, they walked out of the talks, accusing the DMK of allocating less than 5 wards.

MDMK general secretary Vaiko Corona is suffering from an infection and his son Durai Vaiko is scheduled to hold an emergency consultation meeting at 4 pm today.
