by time news

The Emirati Ministry of Defense announced yesterday (Sunday) that the air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards the UAE.

A statement said that “there were no casualties as a result of the attack and the missile fragments fell outside populated areas” and that “UAE air defense forces and coalition command managed to destroy the missile launcher in Yemen”.

The Ministry of Defense also said that the forces were prepared to deal with any threat and that “they will take all necessary measures to protect the United Arab Emirates”. The public was asked to follow the official publications and not consume information from other media.

The attack took place during President Yitzhak Herzog’s stay in the United Arab Emirates. It was clarified from the President’s House that there was no danger to the President and his entourage and the visit would continue as usual.

Herzog met with the regent of the UAE Muhammad bin Zayed Al-Nahian and then met with the local Jewish community, where Kaddish said about his late mother. Today, the President is expected to visit the Israeli pavilion at the Expo, where they will mark Israel Day.

The UAE is trying to maintain an atmosphere of routine. The official news agency and the Aviation Authority of the Union reported that the flight traffic is conducted as a series without exceptions. “There is no impact on flights and airports as a result of the interception of the ballistic missile launched by the Houthi terrorist militia on the country,” it was reported.
