Israel’s ambassador to Bulgaria, Yossi Levi Sapri, posted on his Twitter account tonight (Friday) that he met the Bulgarian Minister of Sports Dimitar Aliyev. Sepri Levy talked with him about the decision of the World Ice Hockey Association to exclude Israel from international events in the field, the first of which will take place in Bulgaria in about a week and a half, when Israel’s men’s team under the age of 20 is supposed to compete in the World Championship.
The Israeli ambassador shared about their meeting: “In complete contrast to the announcement of the authorities in Bulgaria, the organizers of the championship still falsely claim that the participation of the Israeli team cannot be allowed under the pretext of the safety of the athletes who will participate in the championship.” The ambassador thanked Alive for his support and commitment to the values of respect and equality in sports, inclusion, and the need to ensure that the Israeli national team will be allowed to participate in the championship.
