Taipei: The ruling party candidate Lai Ching Tae has won the presidential election in Taiwan.

Our neighbor China is claiming the East Asian country of Taiwan as a part of their country. But Taiwan is strongly opposed to this.

In the middle of these exciting political events, Taiwan, which holds elections every four years, held presidential elections yesterday. In this, on behalf of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, its vice-president Lai Singh Tay, 64, took the field.

Opposing him were Hau Yo-hee of the Chinese-backed Nationalist Party and Go Wen-ji of the Taiwan People’s Party. The votes cast in the election were immediately counted and the results announced.

Accordingly, Lai Sing Tae from the ruling party has won the presidential election. He is known to take a pro-American stance.

It is noteworthy that China criticized Lai Singh Tae as a threat to the peace of the region if he wins.
