LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Emmy Awards, normally one of Hollywood’s September red carpet rituals to reward the best in television, will be held on Monday in a ceremony postponed because of strikes that have hit the industry.

HBO’s “Succession,” a series about the rich but miserable Roy family, leads the nominations with 27. It is expected to win the best drama series trophy for the third time. Most of the shows on the list are from streaming services, which have garnered their largest share of nominations ever.

Organizers postponed the ceremony initially scheduled for September because Hollywood screenwriters and actors went on strike at that time. Labor disputes have shut down production and promotion and forced television stations to fill the northern hemisphere’s fall calendar with reruns and reality shows.

With the strikes over, the Emmys will give Hollywood a chance to highlight TV and streaming series like best comedy nominee “Abbott Elementary,” which returns to Walt Disney (NYSE:) ABC with new episodes next month .

“Succession” ended its fourth and final season by resolving the question of who would take over the Roy family’s global media empire. Fifteen experts consulted by the Gold Derby website were unanimous in choosing “Succession” to win the best drama award again.

Some awards watchers said “Succession” could also sweep all four drama acting categories.
