Kamal Haasan’s daughter, actress and singer Shruti Haasan opened up about stopping drinking. “There is no opposition to parties. But a non-drinker can be difficult to tolerate at parties. I have been abstinent from alcohol for eight years. Alcohol was a big part of life. The constant partying made the drinking habit worse. But later, after keeping a distance from such parties, the habit of drinking decreased. After a certain point he realized that drinking alcohol was not doing him any good. At that time I was always drowning in alcohol. I don’t smoke cigarettes. That’s a bad thing. No drugs are used either,” says Shruti Haasan.
