Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor has indeed died of natural causes, according to a statement from Southwark Coroner’s Court, reported by the BBC this Tuesday January 9. The musician was found dead on July 26, 2023, at her home in south London. She was 56 years old.

“The medical examiner therefore ceased to deal with his death,” the press release added. The day after the announcement of his death, the police already declared that his death was not considered suspicious.

Since then, the artist from Dublin had converted to Islam and changed her name to Shuhada’ Sadaqat, while continuing to perform under her birth name.
In recent years, the singer has spoken out on social networks about her physical and mental health problems, including her suicidal thoughts. Upon his death, Irish President Michael D. Higgins paid tribute to his “authenticity” and his “magnificent and unique voice”.
