Waterford Malayali Association Celebrates 15th Anniversary Christmas and New Year with Mayor Jody Power

Waterford ∙ DBUMA, which has been an active presence among the expatriate Malayalis in Waterford and surrounding areas for the past fifteen years, organized a Christmas and New Year celebration at Ballygunner GAA Club Indoor Stadium. Mayor Jody Power officiated the 15th Anniversary Celebrations at the General Assembly.

Councilor Jason Murphy, who was the chief guest, extended his greetings. President Anoop John presided over the ceremony, priests Jomon Kakanat and Mathew. K. Mathew and Jobimon Skaria wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The past presidents and secretaries of the association were felicitated by the mayor with a momento in the gathering. Bobby Ipe gave the welcome and Secretary Nelwin Raphael gave the vote of thanks.

About 40 innovative artistic performances of adults and children who are members of the association were staged on the stage. Cinematic dance, fusion dance, Margamkali, ‘Ente Malayalam’ children’s carol songs, DBUMA Choir group’s carol songs and various other programs added to the celebratory night. The winners of the prize coupons were given attractive prizes.

Angel Beats, who took to the stage with smashing songs, had the entire audience dancing to the beat. The festivities concluded with a Christmas dinner. Shaju Jose and Neetu John were the presenters of the art programs. Association member Roshan Kuriakos, who won a gold medal in the masters category at the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation Championships and represented Ireland at the World Masters Championships in the United States, was also honored at the event. President Anoop John handed over the gift. The DBUMA Committee thanked all the members and sponsors for making the Waterford Malayali Association’s Christmas and New Year program a huge success.
