The much-loved children’s play “The Nutcracker” will also be presented in Ioannina by the Children’s Stage of Yiannis Christopoulos, for two performances, on Saturday January 20, at 5 and 7 pm, in the “Archbishop Spyridon” hall of the Zosimaia Pedagogical Academy.

Kelly Stamoulaki draws on ETA Hoffman’s classic tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King to present the fairytale story of Clara, a young girl immersed in a world full of wonder, dance and mystery. With the help of the courageous Nutcracker, Clara confronts the evil Mouse King and embarks on an epic journey to the land of sweets. On their journey they will encounter incredible creatures such as dancing candy canes, gentle fairies and unpredictable witches. Viewers will be transported to a world of narrative intelligence, where dreams come true.
The children’s show “The Nutcracker” is a synthesis of dance, music and imagination, which promises to leave the audience with smiles and memories that will last a lifetime. The director has integrated impressive sets, special constructions, effects and romantic costumes by Savvas Paschalidis, which transport the viewers to the world of the fairy tale. Tchaikovsky’s music adds another dimension to the enchanting atmosphere of the performance, as well as the original music, composed by Eleni Karvelis, which intensifies the action of the play. Aphrodite Vrachopoulou, Eleni Karveli, Stella Bonatsou, Alexandros Tsitsos and George Chatzikytrikakos star.
