Deadly Attack in Ra’anana: Woman Murdered by Palestinian Terrorists, Several Wounded

She was evacuated in critical condition to Meir Medical Center, where, unfortunately, efforts to save her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead. She was a highly valued social worker and a member of the senior staff at the municipal parents’ home in Herzliya.

18 wounded were evacuated to hospitals including Meir, Ichilov, Beilinson and Schneider. Among the injured are boys who left the Amit Kfar Batya school. The school reported that the attack injured five students who left the school after school on their way home, four of them in a minor condition and one in a serious condition. The management of the Kiryat Education Amit Kfar Batya in Ra’anana and the team of Kiryat educators went to the Schneider and Ichilov hospitals to visit the students and to be at the disposal of the family members as much as possible. Four students are from the 9th grade and one from the 11th grade.

Rabbi Yoni Berlin, the director of the educational community, said that the entire educational community is praying for the healing of the injured students and the recovery of all those injured. “Just a day before, the community of the school of repose accompanied the graduate Dan Weidenbaum, the 14th, who fell on the Sabbath in Gaza and now we are facing a difficult event here at home. Dr. Yaakov Chen, deputy director of the Meir Medical Center from the Klalit Group and in charge of emergencies, said yesterday evening: “4 wounded are currently hospitalized at the Meir Medical Center, two in serious condition, among them an injured woman who is anesthetized and ventilated and left the operating room a short time ago and suffers from limb and pelvic injuries. Also, two other wounded are in moderate condition. The child, who was slightly injured, was treated in the children’s emergency department and released to his home.”

This morning, Meir said: “From yesterday’s attack in Ra’anana, 4 wounded are hospitalized at Meir Medical Center, including a man and a woman in serious condition in general intensive care, another wounded in moderate condition and another wounded in light condition.”

Bilinson said this morning: “3 wounded from the attack in Ra’anana are still hospitalized in Bilinson. The condition of the wounded man in his 60s is serious and slightly more stable, but he is still not out of danger. The wounded man in his 30s came out of orthopedic surgery during the night, his condition is serious, but stable. Both are anesthetized and ventilated in the general intensive care unit. The lightly injured is expected to be released during the day.”

The mayor of the city, Haim Broida, said yesterday evening: “We share in the family’s sorrow for the murder today of the city’s resident, Edna Bluestein, deceased, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Today we faced two scenes of an attack and the speed of the response of the security personnel in the municipality, of the police and the municipal emergency units, prevented a larger attack, saved more human lives and enabled the capture of the two terrorists quickly. I demand that all employers in the city examine each employee and also the reliability of his identity card.”
