According to the Global Firepower Rankings, the United States is the most powerful country in the list of countries with the most military power. It is followed by Russia at 2nd position, China at 3rd position and India at 4th position.
According to GFP, India has a Power Index (PwrIndx) score of 0.1023. (A score of 0.0000 is considered ‘correct’). The US has a Power Index score of 0.0699, Russia 0.0702 and China 0.0706.
Global Firepower’s 2024 Military Strength Rankings ranked a total of 145 countries based on their global military strength.
India’s neighbor Pakistan is at the 9th position and Italy at the 10th position. South Korea, UK, Japan and Turkey also make the top 10 list.
The ranking for the index was done by evaluating countries on several parameters including military resources, natural resources, industrial and geographic features and available manpower.
Regarding the rating system, Global Firepower’s website states, “Our formula allows smaller, more technologically advanced powers to compete with larger, less developed powers and further applies special modifiers such as bonuses and penalties. It is also cited to refine the list which is compiled annually.
