Mohammad Shami says Hardik Pandya leaving Gujarat Titans is not a big deal. Shami said it is normal for players to switch franchises in the IPL and it may not affect the team much. Shami played under Hardik in the last two seasons.
“Look, it doesn’t matter who goes. The team just has to have balance. Hardik was there and he guided us well. He took us to the finals in both editions and won us the title in 2022. But Gujarat cannot afford to keep Hardik with him for life. That is his decision,” Shami told News24.
“Shubman has now been made captain and he will also gain experience. One day, he might be gone too. That’s part of the game. Players come, players go,” added Shami.
