“Sport for Everyone – Neighborhoods” learn about Matierno. The initiative
An initiative promoted by Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi across the Department of Sports in collaboration with Sport e Salute SpAthe company of State for the promotion of sport and correct lifestyles. A sporting and social intervention model that aims to break down all barriers to access to sport and concretely expresses the principle of the right to sport for individuals and communities. The project, which lasts two years, intends to promote the educational alliance between the sports system and the third sector system thanks to facilities serving the reference communities. In fact, the implementation of sporting and educational activities is envisaged, carried out through facilities located in disadvantaged neighborhoods, and aimed at the entire community, with particular attention to girls and boys, girls and boys, women/men and people over 65.
Coordination and partners
The initiative will be coordinated by the Asd Hippo Basket Salerno, as the leader, and guarantees the promotion, through free physical activity, sports practice and healthy lifestyles, of an improvement in the health conditions and psycho-physical well-being of individuals and of promoting the social cohesion of communities. To support the initiative, there will be the following Partners with the related proposed activities: Pform Lab Social Promotion Association – Nedo Nadi Salerno SCSD Fencing Club– Asd Joker Sport Volley – Salus Srl – Stratego Comunicazione Srl – St. Thomas Aquinas Scholastic Institute.
The program
At 10.30 am the press conference of the project in the presence of the mayor of Salerno Vincenzo Napoli and the other representatives of the institutions, the regional coordinator Sport and Health Campania Francesca Merendaof the project representatives Giosafat Frascinopresident of Hippo Basket Salerno, Alfonso EspositoCEO of PFormGroup, Sabrina Ferrara, president of the PFormLab association. The CEO of IT Svil will then speak Carlo Mancuso which will illustrate the genesis and activities of the It Svil Arena. At 11.30 am there will be a motivational talk promoted by PFormLAB, aimed at students, with the presence of two exceptional testimonials, Andrea Capobianco, coach of the Italian national women’s basketball team, and Max Monaco, motivational coach. Finally, at 12.15 pm the “School Cup”, a competition between student representatives organized in collaboration with Hippo Basket and Power Basket, a club that plays in the inter-regional Serie B championship.
The target
The event will involve numerous middle and high school students in the city of Salerno, offering a moment of strong aggregation and territorial animation. The objective is to underline the importance of sport as a motivational and inclusion tool even in difficult contexts.
