In recent years, a few months after the launch of Samsung’s flagship series, the S series, the company launches an FE model device for the series. The FE series or in its full name Fan Edition is a series that was built to respond to feedback received from the field and to fill in the gaps for customers with a device adapted to a wider audience. So in keeping with the year, this year the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was launched and it arrived at our desk for review, and we’re publishing this review just in the day after the announcement of Samsung’s next flagship phone, the S24.
Design and appearance
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is built to last, with its body made of Gorilla Glass 5 held in a high-quality aluminum shell. At the back we will find Samsung’s prominent 3-camera array in a column, and a flash that has been moved a few millimeters down between the two upper cameras. The FE is positioned in its greatness among theS23 the normal and the plus, when it has a 6.4 inch screen compared to 6.1 and 6.6 inches respectively, which is a unique size for the FE series. The screen is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X model with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, excellent brightness of up to 1450 nits, and some of the best colors available. On the other hand, we have to talk about some design problems: the metal and glass body means that when the device gets very hot it is very difficult to touch it, while the slightly protruding camera lenses mean that it is not possible to straighten the device on a table. Also, the super smooth body makes the device slide in any situation, in the hand , on an armchair, basically everywhere.
As part of the different design of the devices, the FE series comes with matte colors that are different from the usual colors, younger and more vivid colors such as purple, cream, green and gray.
The S23 FE is fast and easy to use, and we note that switching between open apps and multitasking works great. The Exynos 2200 processor with 8 fast cores in modern technology is the winner of the entire work. Eight gigabytes of memory of course contribute to this and internal storage with a volume of 256 GB which is enough to load the device with almost any possible application and video.
As I already mentioned in the previous section, it was said that intensive use, which includes a very bright screen, will cause the device to heat up. I did not feel a decrease in performance during the warm-up, but it was also difficult to hold the device during this time. However, since most of us do not use the device normally, it would be easy to say that you will not feel a decrease in performance during reasonable use.
The camera of the S23 FE
The photography setup of the FE is not fundamentally different from the original model, but simpler – and includes 3 rear cameras where the main camera has a 50 megapixel sensor, and has an aperture key of F1.8. The ultra-wide lens has a 123-degree angle and a 12-megapixel sensor, while the telephoto lens has an eight-megapixel sensor and has a three-fold optical zoom and a 30-fold digital zoom.
