This weekend, the best skiers in the world will meet on the legendary Streif slope in Kitzbühel for three events: a slalom and, above all, two descents. The flagship discipline of Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin, who is currently going through the best period of his life, and could well achieve the most prestigious success of his career in Austria. Unless Marco Odermatt gets in his way again.

Lately, the Swiss and the Frenchman have shared the downhill successes. After winning in Bormio at the end of December, Sarrazin, however, had to watch his rival, the broad leader in the general standings of the World Cup, raise his arms twice in Wengen. Without being left behind, however, since he finished in second place. In Kitzbühel, victory should therefore once again be between the two men, even if Dominik Paris could be a solid outsider.

The Austrian stage will also give rise to a slalom, from which Manuel Feller will start, at home, big favorite, after his victories in Wengen and Adelboden. But the French Olympic champion Clément Noël, second to Madonna at the end of December, will also have his card to play. Victim of a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Super-G in Wengen, Alexis Pinturault will be absent and should be operated on in the coming days.

The program for the Kitzbühel round. Friday January 19: men’s downhill (11:15 a.m.). Saturday January 20: men’s downhill (11:30 a.m.). Sunday January 21: first round of the men’s slalom (10:15 a.m.), second round of the men’s slalom (1:15 p.m.).

All events will be broadcast on Eurosport 2.
