Alarms went off in the security agencies of the United States due to the capture of an alleged member of the “Aragua Train”, which would confirm the presence in that city of members of the shadowy Venezuelan criminal organization.

This is Yurwin Salazar Maita, 23 years old, detained by the Miami Dade County Police for his alleged participation in a kidnapping, robbery and homicide carried out on November 28.

The victim was José Luis Sánchez Varela, a Venezuelan immigrant who lived in Dural, a city located in the south of the American county.

According to the judicial investigation, he went out to meet with two Venezuelan women at a hotel on December 27.

At the end of the meeting, according to local press records, Sánchez left early in the morning in his Toyota 4Runner truck, when he was intercepted by Salazar and two other cronies, who were waiting for him in a car.

They placed him in the back seat of their truck and forced him to take them home, in the style of the famous “millionaire ride” modality that the gang usually uses in Venezuela. Jewelry, money and a safe were stolen from the home.

Not content with the robbery, they then tied up and suffocated the 48-year-old victim. They left her body inside their Toyota 4Runner truck.

A friend of the deceased survived in the house, who said he recognized the attackers, who came from his native country in South America.

Now the Police are on the trail of the two women, who apparently acted as decoys, and the other two kidnappers. It is presumed that they entered the United States illegally last year, crossing the border with Mexico.

The “Aragua Train” also has criminal cells in Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina. He is dedicated to drug trafficking, hitmen, kidnappings, extortion, human trafficking and arms trafficking, among other crimes.
