by time news

The spacecraft Dragon has now docked with the international space station ISS after the one and a half day space journey. The docking was completed a couple of minutes before twelve o’clock, Swedish time, and is described as successful.

The crew will be allowed to board the ISS around an hour and a half after docking, i.e. around 1.30pm Swedish time.

Dragon was suspended last Thursday evening from Florida in the USA. On the craft are, among others, the Swedish astronaut Marcus Wandt, who with the mission is the third Swede in space.

In addition to Wandt, three other astronauts are on the craft: Italian Walter Villadei, Turkish Alper Gezeravcı and commander Michael López-Alegría, who has dual citizenship and represents both Spain and the United States. Seven crew members from Japan, Denmark, the USA and Russia await aboard the ISS.

The craft will stay at the space station for two weeks.
