JAKARTA – Happy faces radiated from 11 rice traders in Central Jakarta who received Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) carts at the Perindo Party DPP Office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (23/1/2024).

Sofyanti (52), a resident of Paseban, Senen District, who is a rice stall trader, admitted that she was happy to get the Perindo cart.

“I didn’t expect to get a cart. Because so far they have been selling using tables and tarpaulins. “The carts are tidier and cleaner,” said Sofyanti.

He sells on the side of the road rather than near the house which is a small alley. “I sell on the side of the road because it’s more crowded. If it’s near my house, I have less purchasing power,” said the woman who has been selling for 10 years.

With a gross turnover of IDR 500 thousand, he hopes that the presence of Perindo carts will improve the economy.

“The return of capital will result in a small profit. The hope is that Perindo will represent the people and still care about small people and MSMEs,” he said.

Tina Sutinah (38), a resident of Rawasari, Cempaka Putih District, one of the Nasi Uduk sellers who received the Perindo cart, said she was grateful. “This cart is for selling uduk rice near the alley,” he said.

So far he has been using a wooden table that is not in good condition. Many buyers subscribe because the price is cheap.

He is optimistic that the presence of Perindo carts will be able to increase sales figures, which are usually 20 portions per day. “With the Perindo cart, the hope is to double or more,” he said.
