The alarm about the fire came at 19.30 on Tuesday evening.
– It comes in as a burglar alarm and shortly afterwards a fire alarm also comes in. It’s a fire with a lot of smoke and the property is contained, says Angelica Forsberg.
The fire must have been confined to one space and must not have spread further in the building.
Several to hospital
During the evacuation, the emergency services must have knocked on the door of the property to locate if anyone had inhaled smoke. The people were initially checked by paramedics at a nearby hotel.
– There are about ten people who have been taken to hospital for a check-up. As far as we know, no one should be seriously injured and no one should be burned, says Angelica Forsberg.
A number of people will not be able to return to their homes during the night, according to the police.
Investigated as arson
The police are classifying the incident as arson and gross illegal trespass.
– We suspect that the fire is arson, but works very widely. We have a lot of resources on site, says Angelica Forsberg.
One person was arrested on Tuesday evening. The person is reasonably suspected, which is the lower degree of suspicion.
