Released barely 5 days ago, Palworld is breaking records. The video game has already been downloaded more than 7 million times and has become the second most played game simultaneously on Steam. If the game has already won over gamers, with this mixture of several popular games like Fortnite, Zelda or Ark, it is also controversial, particularly because of its (very) disturbing resemblance to another very well-known franchise: Pokémon.

Beyond the mechanics which remain the same, namely having to catch (with a ball) kinds of animals to then be able to fight with them, the design of the “Pals” (the small characters) is also very similar to that of the Pokémon. On Similarities which make the trashy side of the game, based on firearms or uninhibited exploitation of Pals, even more satisfying for Pokémon fans who have been quite disappointed with the latest games produced by Nintendo.
