Central African Republic. A country to be built.- Ángel José Espiga Gómez
The Central African Republic is experiencing a situation that could well be defined as a stable crisis. After seven years at the head of the Government, President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has not managed to reverse the endemic lack of security or provide institutional and economic-social development that allows him to be optimistic about the future of the country. Although President Touadéra tries to maintain ties with Europe and the United States, his relationship with Russia—and more specifically the influence that Moscow exercises through the Wagner Group—is posing an obstacle to the West’s participation in the search and development of solutions to the critical humanitarian situation and lack of development. This article analyzes some components of the political, economic and security situation of the Central African country to facilitate its understanding.
