The 2nd descent of Cortina claimed a new victim in the Swiss camp, the day after the falls of Corinne Suter (season ended) and Michelle Gisin (withdrawal for the weekend). Joana Hählen tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during the second descent.
Making a mistake with bib 15 as the wind blew harder and harder, Joana Hählen injured her right knee after a bad landing from a jump. Tests carried out so far have revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
The Bernoise will return to Switzerland to plan the next steps. Hählen has already suffered three ligament ruptures in his career. The American Isabelle Wright ended her race in the safety nets after a jump that was too steep and was airlifted to the hospital.
