by time news

Following requests from educators, students and parents in the shadow of the October 7th massacre, the Ministry of Education announced today (Sunday) that they decided not to oblige the students taking the matriculation exams this year to answer the question about the Holocaust in the history exam. After the announcement, the Minister of Education Yoav Kish announced that a final decision had not yet been made on the issue.

The Ministry of Education first announced that due to allegations made by teachers and parents, the supervisor of the history subject asked to allow students to choose whether to be tested on the subject of the Holocaust in matriculation in the current school year. After that, it was reported that “in light of the sensitivity of the matter, the Minister of Education instructed to stop the decision and examine the matter in a thorough and thorough manner before a final decision is made.”

At the same time, this is an issue that is a major component of our building as a nation and as a country, therefore the issue will be examined and the decision will be published later.”
