PGR recommends mandatory use of body cameras by police officers

The MPF argues that activating the cameras without the possibility of choice by the police officer is “effective in reducing police lethality and for transparency and preventing corruption. It is recommended that this modality is the only applicable one, especially in cases of overt policing” .

“Whenever possible and technically feasible, public security agents must use body cameras. Images of approaches must be recorded and stored for at least 90 days”, said the PGR.
