Third International Tennis Tournament in Memory of B. Ramachandra Aditanar: Australian Bernard Tomic Emerges as Singles Champion

CHENNAI: The Third International Tennis Tournament in memory of ‘Malai Murasu’ President B. Ramachandra Aditanar was held at Adyar Gandhi Nagar Club for a week.

Many participated in singles and doubles categories.

In yesterday’s singles final, 6:4; Australian Bernard Tomic defeated Indian Sasikumar Mukudhan 7:6 to win the title.

He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and 25 ranking points.

Runner-up Sasikumar Mukundu was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1.76 lakh and 16 ranking points.

Ra.Kannan Adhithanar, Managing Director of ‘Malai Murasu’ and Sanmar Group Vice President Kumar gave prizes to the winning players.

Tamil Nadu Tennis Association Chief Executive Officer Shiten Joshi, Joint Secretary Venkatesh, Gandhi Nagar Club President Sunil Reddy, Committee Member Narayanan and others participated.
