Washington, January 29 (QNA) – Apple is preparing to launch new models of iPad Air and iPad Pro devices with high specifications at the end of March this year.
According to Bloomberg, the new models have entered the production stage within the company’s supply chain in Asia, and the iPad Air lineup is expected to get a new screen size of 12.9 inches, along with an updated model measuring 10.9 inches.
Potential features of the upcoming iPad Air model include an M2 chip for fast performance, a redesigned rear camera bump, and support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 standards, without expecting major changes to the exterior design.
Apple released the current fifth-generation iPad Air with the M1 chip in March 2022, while the next 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models are widely expected to be the first iPads with OLED displays.
OLED technology allows the following iPad Pro screens to provide great brightness, vibrant colors, high contrast ratio, low power consumption, and other advantages compared to current models equipped with LCD-class screens. Apple uses OLED screens in its iPhone and Apple Watch models, with the exception of the iPhone SE, due to the use of OLED technology, it is expected that the prices of the new iPad Pro models will rise.
iPad Pro models released by Apple in 2017 and later support ProMotion technology, allowing a variable refresh rate between 24 Hz and 120 Hz, and OLED technology will likely allow the refresh rate to be reduced to 10 Hz or less to save battery life.
Other potential features for the next iPad Pro models include the M3 chip, MagSafe wireless charging, a redesigned Magic Keyboard with a large trackpad and aluminum top casing, and a landscape-oriented front camera. There may also be changes to the rear camera design, as is the case. On the following iPad Air models.
Apple will release current iPad Pro models equipped with the M2 chip in October 2022.
