The first residents’ meeting of the faction “Residents of the City” led by Sigal Weizman took place in Nopi Yam, with an impressive attendance of dozens of residents. Gabi Shemaya, number 2 in the faction, was also present at the meeting, and together they detailed their work and initiatives for the benefit of the residents of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
The faction, which was established to promote burning issues such as the cost of living, affordable housing and transportation on Shabbat, is based on the perception that only through small factions can a balanced and optimal system be produced.
Sigal Weizman, a member of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa City Council, holds the portfolios of youth, innovation and technology, and is a member of the secular municipal forum, signed many achievements in various fields such as youth, innovation and technology, quality of life and welfare.
Among her achievements, Weizman worked to clear Sde Dov and open two paths to the sea, installing 350 security cameras throughout the city, using drones to increase security, renovating and building scout tribes, building the Einstein Bridge, promoting transportation lines on Shabbat and opening branches of youth movements in many neighborhoods.
The residents who participated in the meeting asked many pointed questions and at the end of the evening they strengthened the hands of the leaders. Additional residents’ meetings have been scheduled in various neighborhoods in the city such as Mastala, Ramat Aviv the Green, Jaffa, Kiryat Shalom, Central Tel Aviv, Ramat Aviv 3, Kochav Ha-Hatzam and Neve Avivim.
