Makis Voridis: The Minister of State emphasized that the government is carefully awaiting the decisions of the rector’s authorities

The Minister of State, Makis Voridis, spoke on the SKAI 100.3 radio station about the occupations at universities and the risk of losing the examination period.

The Minister of State stated that the government is carefully awaiting the decisions of the rectory authorities meeting today to consider alternatives for conducting the examinations

“The aim is not to lose the examination period due to the occupations but also not to disrupt the operation of the universities” stated the Minister of State Makis Voridis.

“We are in cooperation with the rectory authorities. The targeting of reactionary forces will fall on deaf ears,” said Mr. Voridis.

At the same time, he underlined that in this four-year period the government has vacated dozens of squatters from the universities.

“The problem has not been eliminated. It’s a constant battle. A lot of things have been done and the university police helped in this” added the minister.
