Sensex Falls Over 800 Points, Nifty Closes Down 216 Points – Stock Market Update

MUMBAI: The Sensex, which rose over 1,250 points on the first day of the week, ended down by over 800 points today. The BSE Sensex fell 802 points to close at 71,140. Out of the 30 companies on the Sensex list, 24 stocks traded lower. The national stock market index Nifty closed down 216 points at 21,522.
