The price comparator KuantoKusta today launched a new digital platform capable of identifying, based on the user’s shopping list, which supermarket will be cheaper to purchase.
Kabaz, as the new tool was called, can still optimize consumers’ savings if they choose the option of splitting their purchases across more than one supermarket.
KuantoKusta invested 500 thousand euros in Kabaz
According to the launch statement issued by KuantoKusta, the Kabaz It is the result of two years of research and development (R&D) and an investment of 500 thousand euros.
To ensure that the platform provides the correct prices for various products sold in different supermarkets in Portugal, these values are updated several times a day, which allows it to “increase convenience, price transparency and informed decisions”.
For those who wish to further optimize their savings, Kabaz allows you to exchange items for similar items from different brands, in addition to allowing the user to monitor price trends to plan their budget with more information.
Currently, the prices of each product are also organized by location, which must adapt to the reality of each city. KuantoKusta also said that Kabaz should add features such as history and even a low price alert in the future.

Although the values can vary greatly depending on each purchase or even the user’s location, the Lusa agency carried out a simulation to understand the average savings that can be made with the new platform.
From a list of 30 supermarket products, the test obtained total values that varied between €94.12, €98.05, €100.10 and €123.15, demonstrating “the diversity of prices charged by different hypermarkets” , as explained by the agency.
If you choose to shop in more than one supermarket, the price could drop to €89.84.
In a note, KuantoKusta highlighted that “the hypermarket that offers the lowest total price is 24% cheaper than the one with the highest prices”. For the price comparator, this “clearly demonstrates the significant impact that the price difference can have on family budgets.”
