After Taylor Swift – Deepfakes – Now really get out of X?

by time news

Deepfakes of pop singer Taylor Swift have been circulating on social media for a week. They are fake porn images using AI. The short message service X restricted the search for the name “Taylor Swift” on Saturday. “Save yourself if you can,” warns the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Now everyone really has to leave the platform. Because: “If even Taylor Swift isn’t even remotely safe on X – then what about me and my only 132 followers?”

Meanwhile, the newspaper Die Welt writes an obituary for pop criticism. The music magazine Pitchfork is to be discontinued. This inevitably leads to the question: What is music criticism today? And who actually needs them anymore?
