Ramanathapuram:- Kanyakumari district came first and won the overall champion title in the South Zone Fire Department Games held at Ramanathapuram. Tirunelveli got second place.
Sports competitions for fire department personnel in nine districts including Madurai, Theni and Ramanathapuram of South Zone of Fire Department were held at Ramanathapuram District Sports Hall.
Deputy Director Vijayakumar presided. DIG, Durai inaugurated the competitions. Various competitions including sectoral competitions, ladder training, rope climbing, team training, basketball and volleyball were held.
Kanyakumari district won the overall champion by scoring the most points. Tirunelveli district got the second position. Collector Vishnushandran presented certificates and shields to the winners. Arrangements were made by Ramanathapuram District Fire Officer Abbas.——
