Puducherry: Puducherry North, West and Magi teams won the Puducherry Inter-District Masters Cricket Tournament.
The Cricket Association of Puducherry and DCM jointly organized the ‘Masters Ten Over’ cricket tournament between Puducherry districts for people over 40 years of age, started on 28th. 9:15 a.m. daily; 11:45; and 2:15 p.m., three matches are underway at Cape Sesame Field.
Puducherry North, Puducherry South, Puducherry West, Karaikal, Maghi and Enam have six teams participating.
Puducherry North and South teams clashed in yesterday morning’s match. Batting first, the South team scored 81 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 10 overs. North team Gilbert and Ramesh took 2 wickets each.
The Northern team, who played next, scored 84 runs without losing a wicket in 7.2 overs and won by 10 wickets. In this, Narayanan scored 43 runs off 21 balls and won the man of the match award.
Puducherry West and Enam clashed at 11:45 am. Batting first, the Western team lost 5 wickets in 10 overs and scored 103 runs. Jayakumar of that team – 38; Raja – 33, runs scored.
The Enam team, who played next, lost 4 wickets in 10 overs and scored only 92 runs. Puducherry West won by 11 runs. The king of the team won the man of the match award.
Maggi and Karaikal clashed at 2:15 pm. Batting first, Maggi scored 116 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 10 overs. Of this, Vijeesh – 51; Saju Sotton – 42, runs scored.
The Karaikal team continued to play and lost the game for 72 runs in 10 overs. Maghi’s Sandeep took 4 wickets and Saju Chotan took 2 wickets. Maghi won by 44 runs. Saju Chottan won the man of the match award for his outstanding performance in batting and bowling.
