Job duties
The work as a judge is stimulating and places high demands on independence and integrity, but also on the ability to cooperate and look out for the best interests of the entire district court. The district court continuously works to develop the business in order to be able to meet the public’s demands for legal certainty, efficiency and good service, as well as to be an attractive place to work.
The work may also include being responsible for certain other tasks such as e.g. security, archives, libraries and education.
Qualifications etc
The person we are looking for is a skilled lawyer who meets the requirements set out in the Judicial Board’s requirement profile for regular judges. You can find the requirements profile via the link below.
You who apply must have the desire and ability to contribute to the district court’s operations meeting high standards of quality, speed and good service to citizens. You must also have well-developed cooperation skills and be able to contribute to the well-being of the workplace. As a person, you are goal-oriented and want to get involved in the court’s development.
There are good opportunities for individually adapted continuing and further education, e.g. within the framework of the Judicial Academy.
About Gävle district court
Gävle district court is a medium-sized court with approximately 40 employees. Jurisdiction is Gävle, Sandviken, Hofors and Ockelbo municipality. The district court falls under the Court of Appeal for Lower Norrland. The district court deals with civil cases, criminal cases, cases and bankruptcies and decides around 4,200 cases and cases a year.
We have an efficient preparation organization with good results.
Gävle district court is a medium-sized court with walking and cycling distance to the center. In the Gävle region there are i.a. kilometer-long beaches by the sea and skiing in Kungsberget. Boulognerskogen is a city park in central Gävle that offers a café, swimming beach, exercise loop, etc. There are also good communication options by train or car to and from Gävle.

Ordinary judges are employed with power of attorney.

About the Judicial Committee
The Judges’ Board is a government authority whose main task is to submit proposals to the government in matters concerning the appointment of regular judges and tenancy councils.
